Overview:
You can’t beat Sandy’s Beach for seeing big waves up close and personal. Sandy’s has what is known as a shore break, which means that big powerful waves pound the shoreline in shallow water, just feet from where you are standing. This is great if you want to snap a few pictures, but not good news if you want to give bodysurfing a try yourself. Because of the dangerous nature of the waves here, FreeActivities.org recommends that only very experienced bodysurfers give this beach a try. If in doubt, just ask a lifeguard about the conditions and if they recommend you go out in the surf. While this beach is dangerous to go out in, it’s still a great time to kick back on the uncrowded sand, lay out in the sun, and snap some great photos of the pros doing their thing.
